Re: [RC] regional awards question - Rides 2 FarHow do you folks feel about the following - concerning AERC regional awards Currently it doesn't matter where you ride, only which region you belong to. I once came in 2nd LW in the SE and the first LW beat me by going out west and doing a multi-day. That was alright. I'm still in favor of the current system. I ride in rocks & mtns. I have no place to train for sand. That knocks me out of the FLA. rides, JD's, & Liberty Run. (I have done the 100 there but paid for it with a layoff). I am now looking out of region for some rides that might fit our abilities better. If the points wouldn't count I doubt I'd travel to do those 100's. Our regional club (SERA) only counts rides sanctioned in our region. Riders in Kentucky are at a disadvantage compared to me when competing for SERA awards. I'd hate to punish them twice. I live in the dead center of the Southeast. I think SERA's awards can satisfy the question of what horse & rider team was tops competing in OUR region. The AERC system of counting residence only can leave the rider free to travel. Good system. :-) Angie ________________________________________________________________ Sign Up for Juno Platinum Internet Access Today Only $9.95 per month!
