[RC] [Guest] working and finding time to condition (was decline of 100 milers) - Ridecamp Guest

patty peck patty@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I would be interested in knowing how many of my
fellow RideCampers are
self-employed and how many hold down regular day
jobs. And if you do hold
down day jobs, how do you get away from work to
travel to a ride?

My roommate and I both work 40hrs+ a week and ride. I generally load up the
horses about 5pm (in the dark) and meet her half way between her job and our
house (25 miles) and we ride 10 to 20 miles of good hill in the dark, rain,
fog, sleet and snow and when we load up the horses and head for home around
9pm wet, hungry and cold we ALWAYS remark on how lucky we are to be able to
do what we love.

As for rides we both trade, barter whatever it takes to get away for rides.
