Re: [RC] [Guest] 100 Milers - Heidi SmithNaturally it takes quite a bit longer for new riders and/or new horses to get to the point of being able to try a 100 miler. Oh, I dunno.... When you start off with a 100-miler (I did, and I know many others in that era who did, too), the 50's don't seem near as tough. ;-) But then as Dot summed up so well, many of us rode as a part of our living 30+ years ago, and the rides didn't give us any choice--each ride only offered one distance, and there were only a handful of rides from which to choose.
