High profile races attract more horses & riders from a greater distance. This plays into the decision as to whether it's okay to wait for a horse to rehydrate himself or help them along with fluids. If nothing else perhaps Darolyn's letter will make people think twice about equating tubing fluids with a fast, easy, big drink of water to get the horse back on the road quicker.
