Re: [RC] [RC] knee pain and riding downhills - Jon . Linderman

"What helped me was a combination of lengthening my stirrups by a 1/2 inch
and learning to ride to spread the impact of the trotting over a larger
area
-- my inner thighs to be exact."

I agree w/Deanna (and can personally attest to her knee pain at Spook Run!)
that the slightly longer stirrup helps me too trotting down hill. I think
too that getting your core (abs & lower back) stronger, helps take the
strain off your legs to keep you from perching forward which will take
stress of your knees. Some people I think chair sit trotting down hill and
brace against gravity a bit putting their weight into their kness, instead
of keeping that independent seat.

My new bug-a-boo is my right stirrup buckle rotating down a few inches
during a ride rubbing me raw on a 50..... yowzers!
