Re: [RC] E-lytes - rides2farDarlene, there is a considerable difference between voluntarily eating salty food and having a wad of salt arbitrarily stuffed in your mouth. I dunno. I've seen many a horse take a big ol' chunk off a salt block and eat it. As a kid I can remember how much I enjoyed pouring salt out in my hand and eating it. My mom used to tell me "it will dry up your blood!" (That sound pretty weird now thinking back on it). Anyway, I can imagine that I probably needed the salt. I was outside sweating and playing and I came in and ate salt. It was good too. >g< I also used to sneak and eat Nestle's Quik with a spoon but I won't go into that. As for mouth ulcers...my mom made us swish with salt water to help heal them.
