Re: [RC] [RC] Delayed sweating - Deanna German

Does anyone know why a horse that is in good physical condidtion will sweat
about an hour after the ride is done?

Have I missed any answers to this question? I'm curious to know the answer
to this too. I've been told that the sweating is the result of core body
heat being released. I've heard it called "second sweats."

More importantly, how do you all manage it? In hot weather, do you sponge or
hose some more? In cool or cold and wet weather, how do you blanket (if at
all)? Layers of breathable blankets? Light sheet? How would you manage a
thin-skinned horse that is prone to chills?

who knows what to expect!
