[RC] bowed tendons - June Scheunemann & Mike BernsdorfOH people of such little faith!!!! You sound like you are doing the right thing of bringing your horse back slowly. Don't give up!!! My mare bowed a tendon...oh the rumors...(isn't it ashame she ruin that mare......she over rode her ....) I didn't ride any faster then anyone else....it was a misstep in a sandy trail. I laid her off for a year and a half....she had a beautiful filly for me....I started her back slow ...spent a winter working on flexing, and bending. She came back to carry me down the trail for another 3 years with over 700 miles each year. Never had a lameness problem again....won several rides including a 100 miler and took BC. If you remember this is a team effort you and your horse can go down the trail again. Alia is now retired here and producing some gorgeous babies for me.....that I hope will follow in the mama's footsteps!!! Total mileage for this mare between endurance and competitive riding....4000 !!!!
