Two mares vaccinated (2 shots) 30/60 days before
foaling. Two fine healthy foals.
14 other mature horses got 2 shots. No
reactions of any kind.
All got EEE/WEE/VEE/Tet/Flu boosters about 10
days away from WNV. One minor swelling at site of injection on one
horse.
No cases reported in the state (Idaho) so far
this year but will probably give booster next year. Very dry this year, no
skeeters to speak of)
Have a friend that insist's the WNV shots made her
nice QH stud sterile, hopefully only for this season.
He ran a high fever, cough, snotty nose, weak and
wobbly, not sure what else. Don't know what the vet thought. Did
recover, looks ok now. (I didn't see him when sick)
