Well, not that it's gets that cold here. But I made polar flleece riding seat pants from Suitablilty patterns ,added patches, and I wear polester tights/long underwear under them, everything breathes, but very warm in the 30/40 range. I also bought some waterproof ski pants and wear long underwear under those if it's 'spitting' and cold.Trying to figure out how to add patches without compromising the waterproofness. May have to sew and then tape the seams with waterproof tape.. or I may glue them on. Polar fleece really adds warmth to anything, I often ride in a vest/ssweatpants of it , that way I don't overheat, acn add a jacket if I need too. Laurie

Okay, I got the advice.  I purchased a flashy black
pair of tights online and bought some longer t-shirts
this weekend.  Only now I have a dilema. I live in MN
and although it will be 80 degrees the next few days
by the end of the week it will be 50 degrees.  So now
I need to know, what do you guys prefer to wear as far
as cold weather goes?  I used to wear jeans but the
seams have gotten to be a real pain for longer trail
rides.  Do I layer tights?  That may get really ugly!  Amy
