[RC] Glue On shoes -EquiFlex-Adhere - Roger RittenhouseOk - I tried to glue on the plastic EquiFlex shoes using Vettec Adhere. I cleaned the soles - removed all dirt with a wire brush, cleaned with De-natured alcohol, used a hair drier to get all the moisture out of the walls I could. Drilled holes in the shoes for the glue to fill. Followed suggestions from 3 shoers. Carol's horse Magic - they lasted 4 or 5 days. She rode once - he went great over rocks etc. My old mare - both gone in 2 days. Never go to test ride. So- it did not work for my horses. Why - WAY to much moisture in the feet. The Vettec glue just will not work. - In a wet area. So next plan is to nail them on. But I have 4 new shoes out 'there'. I ordered more. When they come I will call the shoer to put them on. Short report - two horse test failure. Not going to waste more shoes or money to try again. Nail them on and see how they work. Will be riding my old mare now that Omni is in repair mode. Wonder if the old girl (25) can do a slow easy 25 LD later this fall ???
