[RC] Saddle - wide back, no withers - Tracy BrowneI am interested in purchasing a saddle for my mare that has low withers and a very wide back. The saddles are sitting lower on her than the average horse because of no withers. The saddle sit way down on her shoulders - and she is very wide there and the saddles pinch because they are not wide enough for what she needs. I have tried the Wintec saddles, and their extra wide tree is still not wide enough - I measured her with their gullet gauge and it does put her at an extra wide but this is not accounting for her combintatino of the lack of withers.. The wide Pessoa is not wide enough. A quarter horse tree western saddle is not wide enough. Would a treeless saddle solve this problem?? Or an Orthofex?? Or do I need to go custom??? Please help, my mare has a sore back and I feel horrible about it. Does anyone have a saddle like this for sale?? Help steer me in the right direction.... BTW, she is a straight Spanish bred Arabian. We have been doing NATRC rides this season, getting ready for slow 50s next year. I would prefer an English type endurance saddle. Thanks for your help!
