Knock on wood I've never had to
have a necropsy done on a horse YET. However, I have had them
done on dogs/puppies I've lost in the past. The information that was
learned was BEYOND worth any of my beliefs. I now recommend everyone have
them done. They saved us alot of surprise, money and lost lives
once. We had a fully vaccinated 6month old puppy go from happy, healthy,
bouncy to dead in less than 24hrs. Come to find out it died of
parvo. After I got up off the floor I got busy getting necessary supplies
etc to prevent/control anyone else getting sick.
What IF a horse went down
unexplained at a show/ride/ whatever and it turned out that animal had some
unexplained comunicable disease? I'd want to know
asap!
