Re: [RC] syringed electrolyte concoctions - Lysane CreeSusan, do you mix up a bunch of electrolytes (several 2 ounce doses) first with apple sauce/water etc., put it into the squeeze bottle and then use as needed...or do you carry squeeze bottle with apple sauce or whatever else and little film containers of electrolytes and only mix them together when you are about to dose your horse??? Hope I'm being clear...pre-mix vs. mixing just before dosing - if pre-mixing, how can I be sure that there are two ounces of electrolytes in what I have just squeezed out of the bottle? Maybe this is just a technicality...I like the idea of simplifying giving electrolytes, especially when out on the trail, but I want to be certain about what I am giving too. I have been carrying electrolytes in film containers, dumping one in a syringe, adding water, shaking it all up and then dosing. But its not always easy to get all of the electrolytes to dissolve in the water. And there must be a more efficient way with less fiddling...such as having my syringe all ready with apple sauce and electrolytes already in it - remove cap and dose. I'd like to hear about some of your methods...
