Re: [RC] Was..when horses die...now aneurysm - Susan Garlinghouse, DVMWe once lost a horse to an anerysm during a research project, while the horse was galloping on the treadmill and hooked up to a heart monitor. The heart rate was steady right up to that point, the horse stumbled and dropped mid stride, the HR zoomed up as though the heart was either beating wildly, or an electrode had come loose and thus we were getting all kinds of artifact. By the time, we hit the kill button on the treadmill and ducked under the rail, the horse was gone. Up until that time, the horse had seemed absolutely healthy.
