Next question--while I don't sympathize much with the lady in question, she does make a valid point.  How do we educate people like her BEFORE the damage is done?
That is the part that angers me most...her blaming AERC, the vet, her trainer and probably even the horse. What happened to taking responsibility?
This is not only unfair but really rude. Not wanting to mention names, but some of the best riders around have been over the top helpful again and again, sharing what they know and admitting what they are still working on - to others who simply want to know for the best care of their horse. Clearly, if this rider felt there was no ready supply of experienced riders sharing their wisdom, she wasn't asking around. Suzy,Kim, Marcie, Boyd, Tammy, Pete, Carol - and many more - thank you for doing just that - sharing what you have learned!I don't know if it is simply shyness or pride or what, but it seems that the good riders - and I mean in terms of quality horsemastership and care, not just winning riders - are obvious, free with their knowledge, and easily approached. Conversely, the riders who may indeed "win" on a noticeable scale and yet demonstrate profopudn;y poor sportsmanship and/or horsemastership qualities - they stand out as well.
