[RC] Arabian Horse Costume - Kari HanesLori,I just made one last month for my daughter, this site helped alot - http://members.aol.com/elaurans/costume.html. There wasn't a whole lot of sewing involved and we improvised a few things. We got the material for the blanket, breast collar and head piece at Goodwill (drapery and sheets). Picked up the robe material at Walmart for $1 a yard in clearance bin. Used what was left of the drapes for trim on robe. Slippers - Walmart, pants and shirt - Goodwill. Made tassels out of left over yarn (I used to crochet alot), topped each tassel with wooden beads from fabric store. The whole thing was about $30 total and took one week of working on it after work and training rides. Don't have photos back yet, but my daughter got 7th place out of almost 100 kids at the 4-H fair. As far as finding one and not spending alot - we searched and searched, the cheapest one we found was $300. Good luck, Kari Montalee Arabians Holton, Michigan Hi, I know this has nothing to do with endurance. But does anyone have any idea where to get a great, handmade, Arabian horse costume? Relatively inexpensive would be great, too. (I'm saving money for one of the Ford 250 diesels!)
