Re: [RC] [RC] Endurance Trucks - terry banisterWell, before you spend $30,000 for a truck and $10,000 for a camper, consider a Brenderup two-horse trailer, which can haul two 18-h warmbloods, if need be. I pull mine nicely at 65 mph with a 6 cyl. SUV that is big enough to sleep in, using a good air mattress, and I have a Thetford electric porta-potty and Zodi propane shower set up in the horse trailer (there is even a shelf in front area that would accomodate a microwave). Can also hang water buckets for horses while traveling.Found someone who nicely adapted the HiTie to the fiberglass top, so I don't have to mess with portable corrals, and we set up in camp within minutes. Best of all, since the SUV is my commuter car, and I can drive it through the carwash, it is usually pretty clean. I loved not even owning a truck. Until my son turned 17 and announced he only wanted a truck. So now we also own a 2001, Lifted GMC Sierra extended cab pickup with big tires, chrome wheels, a bull bar on the front and a beefed-up stereo complete with subwoofers, DVD/TV, and a PA system that blasts sirens, rooster-calls or neighing horses. I never get to drive it, but I guess it's nice to know there is a truck in the family (Yes, he is working almost fulltime to make the payments and the tickets). Happy Trails!
