Don't
use Equi-Pak, use the Equi-Build. It is excellent protection for the bottom of
the hoof, tougher than Equi-Pak but still flexible. I've used it under gutter
guard plastic mesh. The mesh that the mfgr sells is pretty worthless on the
trail. The plastic gutter guard mesh lasts pretty good. Only lost it out of one
hoof at a really rocky ride.

Equi-Pak
I
haven't had much luck using it by itself as padding - but imo it is the
best product to use under pads. Much better than silicon. But it's VERY
expensive!
