Mine are mounted near the top, the box for the
battery is at the bottom. I can't imagine it makes much difference safety
wise. My trailer came with the tanks already there, it's a Sundowner
Trail Blazer III. I'm interested to hear where you can get the holders
though, we may add another tank on the other side (above the spare tire).
I think there's room for the type that lay on their side.
