Sabrina wrote about a gelding with itchy skin,
welts on face, chest and neck. Have a mare with similar condition,
definitely induced by gnats, particularly offensive this year due to
weather. Scratched off most of her mane, develops a crust, particularly
bad under stomache. Vet offered steroid injections, not keen about
that. Treating topically, (Swat), keeping horse indoors when gnats active,
particularly dawn and dusk. This has helped. Be interested to know
if anyone else has encountered this problem.
