Not only "out think" the horse, but more importantly try to understand why this behaviour is happening.
 
 Fear is the first thing that comes to my mind, and you don't overcome fear with adding more fear. Dang, that seems so simple, maybe I missed something too like Lisa.
 
BTW, why was that horse rearing in the first place? we have "beaten" this horse thread to death and I don't even recall what the original problem was or who it was with, anyone remember?
 
If not, I will have my hubby whack me over the head when he gets home to see if any brain cells remember the Yin and the Yang gig, that obviously so many of us New Ager Bleeding Hearts musta lost in the shuffle.

FINALLY!  Thank you Ed for an intelligent response.  Whacking a horse in the
head should have been filed away somewhere in the trash can with the
comparably bad habit of "earing" a horse down in an effort to control it.
We must out-think the horse, not try to out-braun it.
