My name is Ray O'Donohue.I said whack 'em.One of the reasons I monitor Ridecamp is that the endurance folks are about the best all-around horse people.Nowhere else do I encounter non-field trial horse people who have any idea of what a good using horse is.I am not a troglodyte.I ALMOST never use violence with my 3 horseback field trial dogs.But horses are not dogs.Once again:WHACK HIM! HARD,RIGHT BETWEEN THE EARS WHEN HE REARS.NOTHING ABOUT YOUR HORSE IS AS IMPORTANT AS YOUR SPINAL CHORD.VIOLENCE IS -SOMETIMES- THE BEST OR ONLY WAY.SHORT,SHARP,SWIFT,AND IT'S OVER.That guy from Kentucky had two big mares that were fast and enduring,and they gave him absolutely NO sh-- whatsoever.Big knot on top of each one's head.
