[RC] Fw: 2003 Calendar... and a most uplifting LD Story - goearth

Hello,  This came my way and it was so uplifting regarding a pony and a
determined persons approach to Endurance.  It speaks volumes on LD and what
it was intended for to me.  tom sites



Hi Tom,
I don't know if you remember me, my name is Sheryl
Phelps. You were very gracious to use a picture of my
pony "Oreo"(December 2003) we were only doing LD's at
that point and you used us anyway!!!
Just an update for you (because we were featured in
the section you have to start somewhere)! We stuck to
it and trained regularly and now we qualify for the
National Championship ride this year in Red Rock
Nevada. Because we are so new at this we only have 300
lifetime miles in the 50 mile rides but we did however
top 5 in our weight division 3 out of the 6 rides we
did! So we do qualify. This is just a simple note of
encouragement to those who want to follow their dreams
and do endurance. I believe with the right attitude
and proper training almost anything can be achieved!!!
