Re: [RC] TV - Kristene SmutsI had a relative startle me once by starting a statement with..."the TV says" .....blah blah blah. I was stunned!! And it happened more than once!>> I can sympathise! I have my father-in-law aged 77 living with us in the house and whenever my or hubby's back is turned, the TV is put onto Reality TV - it drives me absolutely nuts! AND then he insists on telling you the story from beginning to end if you happen to be in the near vicinity!!!!! Your comment in my case is "..... they told us on telly ...." He's starting to lose the plot when he tells you about his day and can ramble on about something totally different from the original subject. His main points of reference are Oprah, Jerry and Ricky.... "yes but, Oprah said ....." ARRRRRGGGGHHHHHH!!!! I would very often switch off the TV to have some peace and quiet but then I run the risk of hubby getting a thick lip ............. can't win! Although I have my favourite stations - cooking, sport, old movies - I can very happily not have a TV at all.
