Re: [RC] No TV? - Lynn KinskyLog us in for no TV, going on 3 years now. When we bought property to keep our horses at home, basic cable service was nearly $40/month. I tend to figure things in terms of bags of feed, bales of hay, farrier visits, so TV was out. We do not miss it. My kids are doing better in school & discovered something completely destroyed by TV: creativity. My daugher sat down one afternoon w/another horsie buddy and made a very impressive board game based on 3-day eventing. I spend so much time with the horses and upkeep on the property that I don't miss it either. The few times I've seen it sitting in a sports bar, or on the road for business I just don't find anything on I enjoy, particularly "reality tv". I guess I'm one of the few TV people <g>. Discovery, TLC , and the History Channel have wonderfully educational programs (I especially enjoyed Discovery's "Blue Planet" and "Walking With . . ." series), and A&E has a lot of BBC drama series. I don't buy tabloids and I don't watch the TV equivalent (or go to the movie equivalent) -- it's all in what you elect to view, not the medium. -- Lynn Kinsky Santa Ynez, CA http://www.silcom.com/~lkinsky =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= http://www.endurance.net/ads/seabiscuit.html Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
