No, Jonni, you weren't the only one.  

Also, during a recent showing of Seabiscuit
here at the scene where Tom Smith is talking
to the other men about the white horse I had 
an immediate crying fit because I'd just found 
out about the apparent death of Ferdinand... 
1986 Kentucky Derby winner and 1987 HOY.  

Ferdinand apparently saw the same fate in Japan 
as Exceller saw in Europe.  He was apparently 
not siring foals who were fast on the track and 
no one over there bothered to call the  US and 
find out if he had a retirement home here.
