[RC] [Guest] e: gaited horses - Ridecamp Moderator
Not all ASB's are 5 gaited, mine happens to be, however. I have never heard of ASBs referred to as anything *but* a gaited horse, no matter what the use. If I chose not to encourage an ASB's slow gait or rack, it does not erase his genetic pre- disposition to gait. I guess I define "use" of my horse by the discipline we are engaged in, rather than the gait we chose. I haven't used the rack on a ride, but certainly have slow gaited-what a wonderful thing! Are you sure the 'dreamy trot' isn't actually a 'dreamy slow gait'?? I think of gaited horses as those that are asked to do their favored gait doing whatever you do. ie: if you barrel race a paso at a gallop, you aren't using him as a gaited horse. My saddlebred has a dreamy, ground-covering trot. I don't even know if she has ever racked.>> =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= http://www.endurance.net/ads/seabiscuit.html Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
