[RC] buddy problem - rides2farMy basic advice is, ride with someone who's riding syle matches this horse...but don't burn bridges. I have had many different riding buddies through the years out of the same basic pool of about 10 local endurance riders. We switch around because one will match your style perfectly...then *they* start a new horse and are too slow for you now. Or *you* suddenly have a horse who is peaking and their horse is on his way down and got some issues that require a special type ride. The rider who drives you insane while you're riding this horse may be perfect to ride with your next horse. There are people I really like and they do things correctly, but we can't ride together right now for one reason or another. Just file that person under "high intensity". You may be surprised if suddenly you have a horse whose relaxed trot makes *her* have to hustle to keep up. The other person hasn't changed, but it sure feels like they have.
