[RC] re:buddy problem - LTYearwoodhi rene, you just echoed exactly how i feel about MY riding buddy. i have been avoiding her lately. she's one of those FAST riders. she has her good points and she has taught me A LOT (as i'm the newbie). but when we ride together ti's always HER ride. so we never warm up the way i want to, we never cool down the way i want to, and her horse trots MUCH faster than mine so i'm always cantering to catch up when i really want to be trotting (my horse used to be a western pleasure and he's just learning it's okay to stretch out in flying trots.) so anyway. i'm so glad you spoke up because i was always wondering what was wrong with me for not getting along with HER. i know the answer is to ride with her no more than once or twice a week, and to do what i need to do with my horse the rest of the time. and i also know that the universe abhors a vacuum. what i mean is, it sure fills the empty spaces when i let go of what isn't working. it's like cleaning out your closet -- doesn't take long for it to fill back up, right? so as soon as i really let go of my riding buddy, i'll be able to find someone who is better suited to what i'm trying to do (training for endurance.) thanks for being so honest. lori =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= http://www.endurance.net/ads/seabiscuit.html Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
