[RC] Stolen Tack - Lauren Horn

PASSING THIS ON....

Last night/this morning theives broke into a barn about 10 miles west
of Peoria IL. There was a locked bar gate (which was locked); the
tack room had been locked and was broken into. The lounge also was
broken into - in the lounge was TV, VCR, stereo, etc. all of which
were left. The tack room was wiped clean. Area sales barns have been
notified...if anyone is going to the Kewanee sale Sat. *please* look
for these items...will post updates as I have them and will be
setting up a webpage ASAP with photos of the saddles (from shows).

These are all Arabian equipment. Several high dollar silver show
saddles. English (both hunt seat and saddle seat) and Western. Among
those taken was a sidesaddle, stock seat, brown leather, *NEW*. Show
bridles were taken, work bridles (also both English and Western).
There were 20 saddles taken. Peoria County Sheriff's department has
been notified and taken a report. If they don't turn up at sales (and
with a tack sale tomorrow 30 miles away I wouldn't be suprised if the
work stuff turns up there)...the higher priced stuff *might* be
peddled on the internet. This was a boarding/training/show barn...so
trying to get information from several people as to their equipment.
*No* horses were taken...possibly because of not being able to get
them out. Neighbors didn't see anything suspicious. Recovery of these
items is perhaps slim...but important. This is a major loss for this
barn...the trainer is returning from Nationals and possibly what was
with them is safe but everything left at home is gone.
I will post a website address as soon as I get the photos to put it
up. *PLEASE* crosspost this especially to ARAB lists and show
lists...ANY information much appreciated. I know these people
personally...this is *NOT* a hoax. They are devestated. The trainer
is on the road and does not yet know.
Thanks
Jan Hoadley
