[RC] Flicks fly spray reaction? - Kristi SchaafI started using Flicks fly spray after reading about it on ridecamp. It does a good job of repelling flies, smells good and is 'all natural'(but I've learned that 'natural' doesn't necessarily mean 'safe'). I was surprised to see my tough-skinned Arab have a reaction to it. After a month of no problems, I noticed a little scurfing across the bridge of his nose where I had wiped some Flicks by hand a few days earlier. And then the next day, his inner thigh and sheath swelled up to the size of a cow udder. I called the vet and she thought he probably had some gunk in his sheath folds and told me to hose it out with cold water. I found no gunk because there were no folds since the swelling was so bad! It took several days for the swelling to subside, and as it did, heavy scurf appeared on his sheath and thighs. I don't know for SURE that Flicks is the cause, but I believe that I probably accidentally sprayed some directly on his sheath area while spraying his belly. What surprised me is that no other fly spray (heck nothing at all) has caused such a reaction on this horse. Has anyone else seen this reaction from Flicks? I like the product, so will continue to use it, but will be much more cautious about how/where I apply it. Kristi iluvdez@yahoo ===== __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
