I don't know about the "Green" but I do know about the Cottonmouth. They will not only swim toward, they will come out on shore after you. They will try to get into your boat to get a piece of you. They are big and have also been know to strike so hard that they have broken legs along with inflicting a bite. Just about any other snake I will live with and let be, but the cottonmouth doesn't belong near people - they are too aggressive.
