RE: [RC] LD again - Stewart, CarrieI am also a 're-run'. Started out in Competitive in '91 and progressed to Endurance 50's. I didn't like the restrictions of Competitive but I liked the distance. Took 10 years off to start a family and now I am back. I was talking with some friends of mine who were kind enough to invite me and my green endurance prospect out to ride for the weekend for experience. The husband does 100's and the wife anything lower. He had never ridden before meeting her and was too green to know that 100's are difficult. :o) I told them flat out that I don't aspire to do 100's. I will stick with LD's and 50's. My body can't take anything above a 50 in one day and some times only 25. My riding gets sloppy if I hurt and that takes its toll on my horse. There is nothing to be ashamed of riding LD's and if you gain your mileage that way, good for you! You put in the time and effort to haul, train and fork up more money to get that mileage. Be proud of your self and your horse. Carrie S. Texas =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
