[RC] old endurance races - Jonni Jewell - Linda B. MerimsJonni Jewell said: While up at Tevis, we went shopping at the antique stores. A magazine caught my eye. It is a copy of "The West; true stories of the old west", April, 1968. One of the stories is titled: "The fabulous cowboy race". Of course, the magazine was a must have item. The brief rundown of the story is the race was 900 miles, from Chadron Nebraska to Buffalo Bill Cody's exhibit at the World's fair in Chicago, 1893... This is the race that CuChullaine O'Reilly has substantiated as being factual. Basha O'Reilly sent me a copy of the write-up the O'Reilly did on the race (the one I was complaining wasn't foot-noted :-). Unfortunately, I can't really forward it to Ridecamp because that would be a copyright violation, and I can't find it anywhere on www.thelongridersguild.com Linda B.
