[RC] bad behavior - Jonni Jewell

I would make sure something is not hurting this horse, before judging the
behavior as "mental". Check saddle fit, have his teeth checked, and
possibly, have a good lameness vet, or chiropractor look at the horse. It
could be the horse hurts somewhere. Often after they are out awhile, they
will either deal with the pain, and try to work for you, or the pain works
out. A horse that hurts will not always show it in its way of going (meaning
a limp or uneven gate).

Often we forget to look at the basic elements with our horses, and
automatically jump to other conclusions as to why they are reacting the way
they are. But often it turns out to be something fairly simple. Lets hope it
is the case with your horse.
