Santiam Cascade is one of my favorite rides. Mary and Anna are the ride managers and everything is top notch! There usually is a pot luck on Saturday evening. They also have raffle prizes and wonderful completion awards.

The only thing I do not really like about the ride is the camping. It's an old air strip and can be pretty dusty. But the ride itself is beautiful. There's even a lake! There's some rock, but I've seen worse.

Deciding on whether to do a 50 or 80- I would see how hot it is and then make my decision.

I seriously thinking of doing the Santiam Cascade Ride in Oregon this year. Have to travel a pretty long ways, so am wondering what comments about the ride any of you might have to encourage/discourage me. I am trying to decide about distance. Will either do 50 or 80 depending on what I find out. I see it has been put on for a very long time. So must be something great about it. My information doesn't say anything about dinner, potluck or otherwise. Anyone know what the normal routine is.
