And I’m
rooting for #126, Leigh Bacco.? She is
part of the rescue team that pulled our gelding out of El Dorado Canyon on June
1st (trail collapsed while husband was practicing for Tevis, horse tumbled 600’
down, horse was helicoptered out, needless to say, his entry was pulled!).? She placed more towards the end of the group
last year but is steadily moving up in placement this year.? She is such a nice person, can’t help but
love her.? Also, my husband is currently
on scene at Tevis, as a volunteer and to bring home my mare that has been bred
to Remington Steele (with Patti Bailey and all ranch hands also being part of
the rescue team).? He was stationed at
the check-in booth at the fairgrounds, then posted at Michigan Bluffs (to help
Gary and Judy Hall, also part of the rescue team), but told to return to the
fairgrounds (since they found out he is an EMT) in time for the first riders as
they come in.? Funny, one little
catastrophe, meet a lot of nice folks, and suddenly you’re sucked in J.? It’s ok though,
husband is having a blast.
I am also
keeping my eye out for #179 & #180, it is Charlene Lewis-Stueve, one of our
locals (Pacific SW region) with the Trail Rite folks and a junior rider, they’re
still hanging in there J.
