It is the stirrup leathers.That is why english riders wear boots or 
half-chaps.I too have a wintec english saddle.I took english for a couple 
years and all english saddles pinch my calves or  bruise them. GEt at least 
a pair of suede halfchaps or cover your stirrup leathers with sheepskin or 
fake fleece.I made covers for my leathers(i use wintec webbers on my 
aussie/endurance saddle).That did the trick,pluse I ride in halfchaps. You 
can use them with running shoes.   Laurie/Rascal/Honey/Scout the baby
