[RC] Information from Ride management after the Pre AERC National Championshipride - Michael MaulThis note is from Robert Ribley - co-ride manager of the AERC National Championship ride at Red Rock - concerning last weekends pre-ride.******************************* I have talked with many of the riders of the Red Rock Ride and it appears the biggest problem was lack of water (very big problem) combined with heat and a tough trail. We (ride management) are now very aware of these problems. We will be working very hard to address these problems and they will absolutely be corrected for the NC ride in October. The ride in October will have many more water troughs on the trail along with hay on the trail. The trail lay-out for the 100 will be modified to decrease the difficulty level and increase completion rate. Also, the weather in October will be cooler. The trail had many scenic spots and the camp is situated nicely with spacious room for parking. There are many good aspects of this ride that will make it a great National Championship ride. The pre-ride was put on to identify potential problems and it served its purpose. The water and trail problems will be corrected. The National Championship ride in October should be a great and exiciting event. We hope you can join us!
