Re: [RC] [RC] Eminence, MO trail ride - Nancy MittsDiane,We were there in Aug. several years ago. A group of our neighbors go every June and talked us into it, so some of them went back with us. It wasn't quite as bad as the place Angie talked about LOL! There is a dance every night with plenty of drinking, but it didn't feel dangerous! There were a LOT of families with kids. It's a big place, so if you don't want to party reserve a spot far from the dance floor. It just wasn't our type of place. Way too many people. like a couple thousand or and that was a smaller ride than the June one. We didn't even take our own horses because we were leering of picking something up from all the other horses, rode the neighbors. There are a lot of smaller camps that have sprung up in the area. If you don't mind travelling to the SW corner of MO you might try Ponderosa Trails, where I hold the Pineville Turkey Trot. They have a few organized rides, but mostly it's open camping. With hookups or primitive. You can rent stall or use yout own pens or high line. (There is a very limited # of spots with electric where you can use pens, so you need a reservation.)
