Re: [RC] Will I Ever Get Used To Arabs ?? - Sarah WTis true!! Arabs seem to always have something up to get ya. Mine reminded me of that today. This morning I had the farrier out. He is a good friend of mine and knows my horses really well. He went with me to pick up my two Arab yearlings this last winter and witnessed the larger of the two (chance) being an idiot (my nose received a direct connect with a hoof as horse and Sarah fell to the ground). Chance has calmed down a lot since, but acted like a blithering idiot today for trimming - rearing up and bolting just for the pure sake that he felt like it. Just a quick reminder that horses will always remain unpredictable. And later, my 11yo 1/2 Arab gelding and I played with gymkhana patterns - and the dink went into a bucking spree. He has done that for YEARS... but, great reminder on how to do that emergency dismount. As for the original question... you MIGHT get used to riding the Arab - but it usually takes lots of time and practice. But that's the fun of it all I think ! - Heidi Helly ( who thanks especially to Arabs has learned many creative dismounting styles in a variety of saddles. Just wear a helmet and use safety stirrups !! ) __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? SBC Yahoo!
