I always carry a water bottle and have yet to find
a dog that won't run from it when you aim their way. It is only water and
won't harm the dog. Early years, I used to carry a water gun with
vinegar. My son who does many mile riding bicycles told me about just
using a water bottle. I keep bees and it also works on agressive cows in
other folk's pastures.
