All of the software effort in setting up the aerc only 
members list was done by John Teeter and he certainly is due 
a large vote of thanks for all the work.

Mike Jaffe has put a lot of effort into sponsoring it - 
getting the framework set up and in the future will do most 
of the work in adding/deleting members and moderating the list.

It's pretty easy to check membership.  One way is to use the 
member lookup function online that will show if a member's 
dues are paid. There is an element of honesty involved 
because we can't verify that the email coming from the 
potential subscriber is really the person the membership is 
linked to.  Certainly we can check if there is an email 
address in the office records but people change their email 
address.

In any event - it's a worthwhile list to subscribe to.  It 
has a digest form and after some of the initial "chat" 
postings go away or go private - the volume will decrease.
