Re: [RC] Stallions / White River Summer - Heidi SmithKari, this is true. But there is a whale of difference between bringing an insecure newbie out (and gently and firmly telling him that his behavior is not acceptable, until he learns better), and ignoring the behavior time and time again (and sloughing it off as "oh, that's normal for a stallion"). If they don't get the point pretty quickly, then it's time to re-evaluate the methods... Heidi Should have also mentioned that in addition, while one is going through this normal learning curve, one does not inflict one's horse upon groups of riders trying patiently to just do the course. One stays off to the side and waits for gaps at vet checks, one drinks last at the water tanks, one stays well back at bottlenecks on the trail, etc., until one has gotten one's horse more thoroughly schooled in equine public etiquette, regardless of gender.
