[RC] Awards and other ride stuff - Peggy Bergman-SmithI've been reading with interest all the comments about ride awards. An award should go all the great ride managers and volunteers who put on our rides. I've only done four rides, so far, but at each one I'm amazed at all that is done for us, the riders and our horses. I don't care what I get for completing a ride, I am so thankful to be there, I get to enjoy the company of fellow riders and am happy just to complete! I have helped with the last 3 rides we had here in Bear Valley and the amount of work to put on a ride is staggering to say the least. So - a great, heartfelt THANK YOU to all of you who put on rides in any region. Oh, and I had to respond to (don't remember who) who made the comment about LDs racing. At the 20 Mule Team this year, 4 of us were literally run off the trail by a galloping 50, who didn't even give us so much as a "get the h--- off the trail!"
