horse ribbons was Re[2]: [RC] Stallions - Bill JohnsonHello All, I have been trying to lurk, just added a few things here and there, but I wanted to say some things. My big buddy (a 18yr old stallion) & I went on our very first ride, appropriately, I think, it was an LD. It was my first time riding him with anything other than my wife/riding partner at home. Under saddle, Mark (my horse) is incredibly well behaved, albiet he gets a touch excited at the beginning of any trip. On lead he can be a bit of a pain, simply because he is 17 hands of horse. I am trying to break him of these habits. I kept getting asked "What do those pretty yellow ribbons mean?" on my horse. One person that asked me was also riding a stallion... I do not view my yellow ribbons as any sort of danger, just a polite way to let people know he is intact, I would not bring an out-of-control horse to any sort of public venue. Gender is no excuse for poor behavior from ANY equine!!
