RE: [RC] [RC] Ride Story: Acadia 50 (AKA: "The Wrong 50") - Deanna GermanSharon, As the saying goes, "been there, got the T-shirt". I've been overwhelmed by the trail and weather conditions. It's heart-wrenching, but in time you will look back on it without tears or regret and see it more clearly for the great learning experience it was. You're already picking yourself up to keep on going. You did right by your horse and he'll be ready to go again soon, and stronger for the experience. You probably accomplished some great brain training. And you got to see some new trail, right? You'll get 'em next time. And pulsing down to a 48 after what you described ain't too shabby -- don't get all worried about 4 heartbeats per minute. Those ultra-low pulses come with time and experience -- unless it's my horse, then the more fit she gets, the higher her CTR pulses. >g< Deanna ----------------------------------------- This was our 3rd CTR, and the first 2-day that my riding buddy (Traci) and I have tried. Our horses are also new to the sport, which we're using as a stepping-stone to Endurance riding.... =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
