Re: [RC] farm insurance - Bob & Amber Roberts>My friend who leases and runs a boarding barn said her insurance doubled>last week. ... I was told they will insure my >horses or say if a friend rides, but if it is a business they would cancel.? I have boarded horses at my place for many years. Changed ins. co. last year and they did not want me to have a boarding business. We were ready to quit anyway, but still had one boarder here who happened to have bought two of our personal horses, plus we had 2 of our own. Ins. Co. said they would "write us up for 4 horses" but that would be all they allowed. So in effect, we still have our one remaining boarder, but are not running a business as far as the ins. co. is concerned. I have since had to turn down prospective new boarders and cancel all our ads and business cards.
