[RC] LD BC?? - Rides 2 FarI noticed that many of the same *people* were placing first in the LDs There's pretty much 2 ways fast horses disappear. They break down or they're sold overseas. At the prices those guys are paying the people who are buying and training with selling overseas in mind don't care whether they get an award or AERC points so long as they have proof that horse was up front. The market for the shorter distance horses doesn't seem to be what it was though. Now seems like they're buying 50 & 100 milers so what you're seeing is horses that move up in distance quickly, then disappear. The ones that are sold are often already injured and the people are sort of having a laugh at the buyer's expense. It's not easy to keep a good horse for years & years when you've got to either disconnect your phone or be capable of turning down big offers.
